Jamie Raskin Slams Marjorie Taylor Greene For Heckling Him, Calls Out ‘Trump-Putin Axis’ In Republican Party

Democratic Representative Jamie Raskin had some choice words for Marjorie Taylor Greene after she heckled him while he was speaking on the House floor, calling for former Trump officials Peter Navarro and Dan Scavino to be charged with contempt of Congress. Navarro and Scavino refused to testify to the January 6 committee as ordered, and so should logically be charged with contempt, but Greene interrupted Raskin with some whataboutism.

“What about Ashli Babbitt?” she shouted. “What about Russian collusion?”

Raskin was not the least bit phased, and used the opportunity to address Russian collusion on the part of Republicans.

“The gentlelady I think said something about ‘the Russian hoax,’ or ‘Russian collusion,’” said Raskin. “I accept the heckling, Mr. Speaker. That’s alright. Because if she wants to continue to stand with Vladimir Putin and his brutal, bloody invasion against the people of Ukraine, she is free to do so and we understand there is a strong Trump/Putin axis in the gentlelady’s party.”

“If she wants to continue to stand with Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin, that is her prerogative, but please do it on your own time, forthwith.”

Republicans, especially those who unapologetically worship Donald Trump, have increasingly supported and praised Russian dictator Vladimir Putin and have hardly backed down from doing so even as he continues an extremely unpopular war against Ukraine. When it came to a non-binding resolution affirming U.S. support for NATO “as an alliance founded on democratic principles,” 63 Republicans voted against it.

Trump himself called Putin’s invasion of Ukraine “genius,” and multiple Republicans have voted against sanctions on Russia and tried to use the war to push their racist border wall agenda. Ten of them introduced a bill that would bar additional military aid to Ukraine until the logistically impossible Trump wall is completed.

Meanwhile, Russian forces have been accused of committing a wide range of horrific war crimes in Ukraine, with the world left in shock at the images of the mass graves in Bucha after Ukrainians retook the area near Kyiv.

Considering that Republicans seem to have no bottom when it comes to viciously attacking Democrats in any way they can, those on the political left in the U.S. widely enjoyed watching a Democrat finally calling out the fact that those across the aisle seem to love Putin.
