A tweet from Jacob Kornbluh, national political reporter for the Jewish Insider, who attended the party Wednesday night, said that Trump was not scheduled to address the crowd or light the menorah to celebrate the holiday.

However, a follow-up tweet shows a video of Trump addressing the crowd gathered in the White House’s East Room.

Trump is captured saying, “All I ask for is people with wisdom and with courage, that’s all. Because if certain very important people, if they have wisdom and if they have courage, we’re going to win this election in a landslide.”

The crowd responded by chanting, “Four more years.”

More than 81 million Americans voted for Joe Biden, helping him collect 306 electoral votes to decisively beat Trump.

The comments about people with “wisdom and courage” may have referred to the 18 Republican attorneys general who are attempting a lawsuit to overturn election results in four key swing states. As we reported yesterday, the suit was filed on Tuesday by Republican Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, who is currently under FBI investigation for alleged corruption.

The Washington Post, in its coverage of the video, noted the Hanukkah party was one of two hosted at the People’s House on Wednesday night, part of a robust schedule of at least 25 indoor parties in a holiday season marked by record single-day deaths and hospitalizations in the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The article noted the parties appeared to “ignored warnings from the Trump administration’s own public health experts to avoid large groups and limit travel.”

The Post also reported that White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, who recovered from the coronavirus last month, was shown not wearing a mask and shaking hands in photos with maskless attendees.
