Kimia, or @kimikat90, says that the man was an off-duty police officer working for a private company to direct traffic. In the video, he wears a shirt that reads “POLICE” and appears to be in an unmarked vehicle.

“As someone who works in construction, they absolutely have to help anyone who needs directions, they have to provide signs, they have to tell everyone what’s going on,” she explained.
But when she asked the officer where she could make a U-turn when he told her she had to turn right instead of left, Kimia says he exploded at her and threatened to arrest her if she didn’t turn immediately.
That’s when she started recording. The video itself shows him screaming at her as Kimia remains calm and asks him for his name.
“Stop shouting at me and tell me your name, please,” she says.
“You wanna get pepper sprayed?” he asks in response.

He walks away to his vehicle as she calls out her window to ask for his name again, then he eventually turns back and grabs his crotch, with a pointed head nod in Kimia’s direction.
Viewers were predictably torn, with the usual suspects ignoring the cop’s atrocious behavior and insisting Kimia should have just turned when he started yelling at her for asking for directions.
“At least he didn’t punch your face….why is it so difficult just to do what you’re told!” reads one top comment.

“I’m sure you might of deserved this treatment maybe more,” another TikToker wrote.
Others recognized the man was in the wrong, though few seemed to be surprised by his actions.
“Most of them do this and if she was black she would have already been pepper sprayed,” one user theorized.
“I don’t understand why they have to talk to the public like that,” another agreed. “I support good police officers but this is bs.”
Kimia says she has contacted a lawyer to see if there is anything further that can be done regarding what happened.
