Former Child Star Rick Schroder Harasses Costco Employee Over Mask Mandate

On Saturday, Ricky Schroder posted a video of himself harassing a Costco employee for doing his job and wearing a mask, in alignment with California COVID-19 mandates. Insider reports that Costco recently announced nationwide that mask requirements in stores would be lifted, though they added that this might be dependent on local ordinances. In California, masking up with still the law.

Schroder was once famous as a child actor, but he has since been establishing an identity as a conservative social media person, whatever that “job” is called. In addition to his anti-masking mania, he has talked openly about contributing thousands of dollars to the defense fund for Kyle Rittenhouse, who shot and killed two protestors in Kenosha, Wisconsin.

The video was filmed outside a Costco in Los Angeles, and in it, Schroder approaches a man with the name tag “Jason.” Despite the clear marking, Schroder demands he identify himself. Jason says he’s a front-end supervisor.

“And why aren’t you letting me in?” Schroder asks.

“Because in the state of California and in the county of Los Angeles, and Costco, there has been no change to our mask policy,” says Jason.

“Didn’t you see the news?” Schroder replies. “Nationwide Costco said you don’t need to wear masks.”

Jason reminds Schroder that there are plans to lift the mask mandate in June in the state of California, if everything is going well.

“Oh, if they allow us? If they grant us that, our kings?” Schroder answers. “The people in power. You’re going to listen to these people? They destroyed our economy. They’re destroying our culture. They’re destroying our state. And you’re just going to listen to their rules?”

Schroder shows himself and his cop loving hat and announces he’ll be canceling his membership with Costco.

“I suggest everybody in California get their refund from Costco. Give up your membership from Costco until they remove this.”

Jason tries to reason with him once more, saying, “Costco is simply abiding by the law and that’s the law.”

I bet Jason has been dealing with this sh-t all year. And Schroder’s boycott is probably only going to hurt himself. Costco will do just fine without his business, and he’ll be missing out on amazing bulk-buying deals.

Since posting the video, it seems like Schroder has experienced some remorse, mainly for bothering the imperturbable Jason:

But don’t pity him in any way, he got back to the white supremacist stuff real fast:

Costco, please ban this guy.
