There is apparently such a thing as “World Emoji Day,” primarily celebrated by Emojis. It seems like the powers that be try to release at least one emoji intended to stir up conversation whenever there’s an update, and this time was no exception.

This round they added emojis meant to be a pregnant man and another to represent a pregnant non-binary person. These are just drafts, according to Someecards, so it won’t be official until September, but the images are already stirring up a lot of questions for people.

If somehow you never put two and two together, a trans man with a uterus can still become pregnant and have a baby, so the existence of a pregnant man emoji isn’t some weird reference to the Arnold Schwarzenegger classic Junior. Will it be used a whole lot? Probably not as much as the heart eyes emoji or the peach butt emoji, but someone out there will probably be glad for the option at some point.

It could be just because the pregnant man looks like he is in some distress and Emoji needs to take it back to the drafts. However, a lot of people were disgusted by all the jokes when representation is actually a pretty serious issue for trans and non-binary folks.
as someone who’s non binary and wants to get pregnant, i feel included with this emoji, 100%. the one thing i’m not glad about it the blatant transphobia and enbyphobia towards those of us who wanna get or are pregnant

trans men don’t get healthcare because ppl don’t think men get pregnant and it’s seen as just a joke + healthcare that trans men NEED other than stuff just related to pregnancy is restricted to just cis women so like. yes we need good rep and this is a step towards that but at
